Role: Healthcare Integration Engineer
Location: Remote-USA
Type: Contract/Full Time
Overall Experience: 11+ Years
We're seeking an experienced Healthcare Integration Engineer to design, build, and implement advanced interoperability solutions leveraging HL7, FHIR, and C-CDA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement healthcare data integrations with external health networks (QHINs)
- Build high-performance RESTful API frameworks
- Implement FHIR APIs and support OAuth 2.0 for secure third-party integrations
- Create technical documentation: interface specs, data mappings, architecture diagrams
Required Qualifications
- Healthcare interoperability/integration development
- Strong experience with FHIR API development & RESTful services
- Proficiency in Python for data transformations
- Expertise in HL7 FHIR (R4), profiles, extensions, and IGs (US Core, Argonaut, Da Vinci)
- Strong knowledge of C-CDA and C-CDA FHIR transformations
- Familiarity with terminology standards: SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CPT
Preferred
- Experience with Mirth Connect or InterSystems IRIS for Health
- Experience building channels, transformers, and workflows in IRIS/Ensemble/HealthConnect
- Knowledge of mapping C-CDA (CCD, Referral Notes, Discharge Summaries) to FHIR resources
