About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst with EHR experience to support the analysis, design, and implementation of healthcare technology solutions. In this role, you will work closely with clinical and technical stakeholders to gather and document requirements, translate business needs into functional specifications, and support the delivery of EHR enhancements, integrations, or new implementations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and proven experience with EHR platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Work with stakeholders to elicit, define, and prioritize business and functional requirements for EHR solutions

Translate complex healthcare workflows into clear business process documents, use cases, and specifications

Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, technical teams, and third-party vendors during project lifecycles

Analyze current EHR systems and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement

Support EHR implementation, configuration, upgrades, and integration projects

Conduct workflow mapping, gap analysis, and requirements validation with clinical SMEs

Assist in testing and validation phases by reviewing test plans, participating in UAT, and verifying functional requirements are met

Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working groups with multidisciplinary stakeholders

Ensure solutions comply with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Australian Privacy Principles)

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of Business Analyst experience in a healthcare and experience in health IT setting

Strong understanding of EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, MEDITECH, Fusion Health, etc.)

Experience with healthcare workflows such as patient registration, clinical documentation, order entry, and results review

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across clinical and technical teams

Proven ability to create business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specs, and process flow diagrams

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or hybrid project methodologies

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in EHR implementation or optimisation projects

Knowledge of interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CDA)

Exposure to healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH, My Health Record, NASH, etc.)

Experience with data migration or integration in clinical systems

Bachelor s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Business, or related field

Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM, SAFe BA)
