Missile Defense - Supporting effective operation of missile defense systems against national and theater threats
Battlespace Awareness - Supply comprehensive infrared data to help characterized battlespace conditions, supporting force protection, strike planning, and other missions
Technical intelligence - Gathering data to characterize a variety of infrared signatures to enable rapid identification of events.
When you join the OPIR Infrastructure team as a radio frequency (RF) Engineer you will design, install, and maintain Remote Ground Stations at both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
We are seeking a RF Engineer to join the OPIR infrastructure team supporting the relay ground stations for the OPIR programs. In this role you will work with a dynamic, fast-moving, high performance team to design, install, test, and maintain CONUS and OCONUS Relay Ground Stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and testing of RF systems and subsystems, including antennas, filters, amplifiers, and receivers-
- Perform crucial RF system level analysis to include link budget analysis for antenna systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, wiring diagrams and interconnections, test procedures, and technical notes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems, hardware, and network engineers and work closely with IT infrastructure teams.
- Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and other technical meetings
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures for RF systems and subsystems
- Troubleshoot and debug complex ground system integration issues with a focus on RF subsystems
- Stay current with emerging RF technologies and trends, and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems and develop new ones
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in RF design development and testing
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure RF components and subsystems
Basic Qualifications
- Strong understanding of RF principles and concepts
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to accurately record and maintain complex system designs and configurations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Secret Clearance to start
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to CONUS and OCONUS site locations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desired skills
-Previous hardware engineering and RF engineering experience.
-Experience with satellite ground systems
-Experience designing and implementing RF and Hardware projects through the full system life-cycle.
-Desire to support all types of RF and IT-hardware in addition for a holistic approach to satellite ground systems.
-Experience troubleshooting data flows in large complex systems.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
