About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Infectious Disease Physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Oregon. This 100-day assignment offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, starting on date 07/14/2025. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with general infectious disease cases, diagnosing and effectively treating a broad range of infections. This role focuses on high-acuity cases, as the hospital's hospitalists are competent in managing routine ID patients. The physician will provide expert consultations and treatment plans for complex infectious disease cases in a dynamic hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide expert consultations for complex infectious disease cases

Diagnose and treat a broad range of infections

Develop comprehensive treatment plans for high-acuity patients

Collaborate with hospitalists and other healthcare professionals

Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic tests

Recommend appropriate antimicrobial therapies

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Provide guidance on infection control and prevention measures

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EHR system

Stay current with advancements in infectious disease management

Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to infectious disease care

Additional Information:

Oregon state medical license required

Board certification in Infectious Disease

Experience with Epic EHR system is beneficial

Focus on high-acuity and complex infectious disease cases
