We're partnering with a well-established company headquartered in the Austin area to add a Cybersecurity Engineer to their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and working across multiple areas of security rather than being siloed into one function.
You'll be joining a small but highly experienced security team, where you'll have the chance to work on high-impact projects, contribute to strategy, and directly influence security decisions.

You'll be joining a small but highly experienced security team, where you'll have the chance to work on high-impact projects, contribute to strategy, and directly influence security decisions.
What You'll Do
- Manage and optimize SIEM (Splunk), including queries, data ingestion, and integrations.
- Drive vulnerability management efforts - aggregate findings, prioritize, and partner with IT teams on remediation.
- Support deployment and management of a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solution.
- Implement and maintain network security controls - firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, proxies, and VPNs.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to align security controls with business needs.
- Stay current on security threats and recommend improvements to strengthen overall security posture.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related work.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk or another SIEM.
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management tools (Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7, etc.).
- Background in cloud security (multi-cloud experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with networking concepts - firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, SaaS/on-prem integrations.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work with and influence technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable in a smaller team environment where you'll wear multiple hats.
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or similar.
- Experience with PCI compliance.
- Previous work in retail, e-commerce, or SaaS environments.
