Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Procurement Manager to join the Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) R&D team and help to drive the success of the R&D organization. The individual will oversee a team of Supply and Procurement specialists, handle complex management issues, and provide guidance to more junior staff on sourcing related issues. Ensure all sourcing arrangements are successful and aligned to company and area strategy and manage supplier relationships at a strategic level. May be responsible for strategic planning, relationship management and reviews of existing supplier arrangements for an entire spend category for a region or all of the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute clear category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement strategies for Lab Consumables, Equipment and Services.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective alignment that support business requirements while appropriately managing quality, speed, cost, risk and ease-of-use.
  • Be knowledgeable in market trends, benchmarks, and best practices across categories under management. Use this knowledge to optimize results and drive a high standard of excellence.
  • Lead sourcing events, initiate and negotiate contracts and agreements for commercial terms.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify, manage, escalate, and resolve issues related to supplier performance.
  • Develop and foster a supplier experience that nurtures the perception of the company as a customer of choice.

Essential Qualifications.

  • 7+ years Bio-Pharma industry experience with extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing and category management
  • Exceptional negotiation skills; you are a tenacious problem-solver with a focus on building mutually beneficial relationships
  • Excellent communication and ability to influence others

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Bachelor Degree ; Advanced Degree ; CPSM or equivalent
  • Subject expertise in the Lab Consumables, Equipment & Services
