Job Details

The State of Wisconsin is looking for a Project Manager II.
.
This position is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of complex, enterprise
IT systems on web, mainframe, and cloud platforms and provides leadership and direction to project
teams and coordinates efforts between IT and functional teams. This position performs duties such as
establishing charters, plans, schedules, and priorities. It is also responsible for reviewing business
case documentation, managing requirements, and developing web design solutions that ensure
consistency with departmental and statewide architectures, methodologies, standards, and policies.

methodologies, standards, and policies.
Review the project team s development specifications to ensure they are properly and
consistently applied to the Bureau s project development methodologies and tools, and
conform to departmental and statewide development methodologies, standards, and policies.
Identify and develop customer and technical support documentation for projects according to
organization standards and best practices.
Review project outputs for quality, consistency, and conformance to organization standards.
Adhere to the bureau s project management and application development methodologies for
the creation of project management documents including project charters and plans, work
breakdown structures, risk and communication plans and status reports.
Provide communications between development teams, technical support, subject matter
experts, stakeholders, management, and other agencies.
Coordinate communication and project direction for the development team customers,
technical support, management, and other agencies.
Identify and document the significant software architecture aspects of the system including
requirements, design, implementation, and deployment elements following standard
practices.
Ensure that the development and maintenance of data and information technology planning
and that security (data and application) meets the legal requirements of federal, state and
local law.


Top Skills & 2-5 Years of Experience in the following:
Strong knowledge of the project development life cycle process (i.e. planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, support).
Strong knowledge, skills, and experience in effective written communication, including reports, proposals, recommendations, requirements gathering, system documentation, and presentation materials.
Skill in principles and practices of effective oral communication, including facilitation of meetings and providing recommendations to customers, management, and users, in addition to providing
consultation and presentations.
Strong ability to coordinate and lead projects involving development teams, technical support staff, business area experts, vendors and third-party technology providers, business and IT management,
external agencies, and other stakeholders.
Knowledge and ability to utilize Jira for bug tracking, issue tracking and project management.

Nice to have skills:
Considerable skills in leading both Mainframe application and Java-based web application development and enhancement projects.
Experience working in the public sector and/or with a government organization.
Significant knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications. Interview Process: Microsoft Team with video and audio; 1 Teams interview
Duration: 6/30/24 with extensions possible
Remote or On-site? Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Remote capabilities up to 5 days/week within the State of Wisconsin.
