We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team to help protect M365 against adversaries determined to access our customers' data. You will work alongside security researchers, data scientists to write code across multiple related systems to provide effective, durable monitoring capabilities targeting present threats.

Responsibilities:
Write well-designed code with an emphasis on quality, maintainability, scalability, and performance.
Analyze security threats to M365 and build monitoring components to address those threats
Analyze service telemetry to come up with techniques to eliminate noise in security data
Execute the dev-sec-ops approach to software delivery by designing, coding, testing, deploying, and operating components of the Microsoft 365 security monitoring system.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience building services on cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate's citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with Apache Spark
- Experience with security detection engineering
