Piper Companies is looking for a Business Analyst to join a Data focused Health Care Organization for a Hybrid, Contract to Hire opportunity in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities of the Business Analyst:
  • Define and document business requirements from stakeholders, producing technical specifications for Data Engineering team.
  • Communicate clear written specifications to data engineers and assist in QA testing to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from clinical, business, technical, and research backgrounds.

Qualifications for the Business Analyst:
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role within data analytics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business use cases into detailed specifications.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and QA/testing processes.
  • Intermediate experience with Jira and Excel.
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL.
  • Background in healthcare IT or public health.
  • Bachelor's degree

Compensation for the Business Analyst:
  • Targeting conversion salary of $80,000-$100,000 **depending on experience**
  • Hybrid work schedule (1 day per week in office)
