Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist to join our student mental health team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the well-being and academic success of our student population through high-quality, comprehensive psychiatric care.
Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to provide psychiatric services to students, including diagnostic assessments, medication evaluations, treatment planning, ongoing psychiatric management, and collaboration with an integrated mental health team.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments

Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans

Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications

Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, and other health professionals in a multidisciplinary setting

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system

Provide crisis intervention and support when needed

Educate students about mental health conditions and medication adherence
Qualifications

Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO)

Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program

Active medical license in the state of New York

Board certification in psychiatry

Current DEA registration

Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with college-aged populations

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs)

Strong ethical standards, clinical judgment, and interpersonal communication skills
