We're seeking a forward thinking Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, AI-native cloud applications and microservices using custom and foundation models. You'll apply AIOps to drive intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation across distributed systems, powering real-time decisioning and platform resilience. You'll support Agentic AI systems that reason, adapt, and act with goal-driven autonomy and multi-step tool use.

Responsibilities:

- Build and ship scalable, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-native cloud applications and microservices using foundation models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and autonomous agents. Mentor engineers in AI-first development.
- Architect Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) systems with goal-driven behavior, multi-step reasoning, and tool-use capabilities.
- Integrate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to expose internal tools and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to Large Language Models (LLMs) via JavaScript Object Notation - Remote Procedure Call (JSON-RPC), enabling seamless agent interaction across platforms like Copilot Studio and Azure Artificial Intelligence Foundry (Azure AI Foundry).
- Apply Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) for intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and auto-remediation across distributed systems.
- Build and ship the next generation of highly scalable, cloud-native applications and large-scale distributed microservices while mentoring other team members.
- Ensure the highest standards of security and quality in all aspects of our work, from design to deployment.
- Bring software engineering habits and produce high-quality code that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for Continuous Integration (CI).
- Collaborate with colleagues including product owners, User Experience (UX) designers, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Engineers/Researchers, data scientists, and other engineers to create delightful and meaningful experiences for our customers.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership: architecture, design, code reviews, development, Quality Assurance (QA), and live site support for mission-critical services to ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience building scalable, efficient, and reliable cloud services.
- 4+ years experience with systems design, architecture, and writing unit tests and integration/ end to end tests
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with utilizing Large Language Models and Prompt Engineering.
- Experience buiding AI agents
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS.
- Experience in container ecosystems, including Kubernetes, docker, service mesh etc.
- Understanding of code coverage, data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded, asynchronous programming patterns and solving complex problems, inclination for architecting at scale.
- Proficiency in Agile software delivery utilizing GitHub and/or Azure DevOps Service.
