System Administrator (Onsite)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a System Administrator for their Vancouver, Washington location. This position provides hardware maintenance lifecycle support for the Control Center systems. It also provides General Support System (GSS) infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, emergency response, client support, system energization/acceptance testing, and performance analysis and trending

Key Responsibilities for System Administrator:
With manager / technical lead oversight, perform system administration of the following systems, including the following:
- Configure applicable software and systems, maintaining local documentation, installing/updating/removing software, applying change control processes and procedures, planning and preparing for future growth, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and perform training.
Experience related to the following software and systems:
- Antivirus-antimalware
- Central time distribution
- Data storage services
- Display infrastructure
- File services
- Laptops and portable devices
- Linux infrastructure
- Non-production workstations
- Patch management
- Print services
- SMTP relay services
- Software deployment services
- Virtualization infrastructure
- Windows infrastructure
- In-house developed applications
- Support and assist the team lead and North American Electric Reliability Corporation - Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC-CIP) subject matter experts (SMEs) with implementing, analyzing, and reporting on the operational compliance of all Control Center cyber assets.
- Research, develop, test, and document standardized technical procedures for the deployment of server and workstation computer hardware and associated operating systems for final review and approval by manager/staff.
- Respond to help desk client support calls utilizing change management software to manage the process of completing the tasks.
Requirements for System Administrator:
- An Associates or Bachelor s Degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred:
- With an applicable Associate s or Bachelor s degree: 3+ years of experience is required.
- With a degree not in applicable fields or no degree: 5+ years of experience is required.
- Experience must include direct work experience in Information Technology performing System Administration.
- A practical knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully perform Active Directory administration and troubleshooting
- Windows operating systems packaging, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Administration of print servers, network printers, and basic troubleshooting of printer services.
- A working knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully troubleshoot Windows operating systems using text-based logs, windows event logs, and various utilities.
