DOCSIS QA Test Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a DOCSIS QA Test Lead in Greenwood Village, CO.

Duties:
* DOCSIS QA Test Lead will be responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications; Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution
* Works on projects of high complexity within one or more development environments and on multiple programs/systems as a test lead
* Responsible for leading onshore and offshore people; Considered a subject matter expert for a single program/system
* Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-10 years of experience in a QA role or similar
* Cable modem experience
* Understand each layer of the OSI model (with focus on layers 1-4)
* Understand differences of IPv4 vs IPv6
* Understand how IPv6 is used
* Understand what different DNS records are used for
* General cable model boot up process (what all steps are needed/happen when a modem is plugged into power
* Basic understanding of how to use HTTP and SNMP to check/troubleshoot devices
* Understanding of why/how SNMP MIBs/OIDs
* Understanding of different DOCSIS states and what they mean
* Deeper understanding of timeouts and signal level meaning for the "signal level" charts shown in scope
* How do downstream and upstream channels work, channel bonding; T3/T4 timeout meanings; Linux basics; How to navigate directories; Basic commands
* Proficient in using HP Test Suite or other Testing Tools
* Detail-Oriented
* Proactive in finding and resolving a wide range of technical and process issues
* Organized and able to track multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines for each project
* Interested in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
* Able to learn a wide range of new topics simultaneously
* Able to understand key details or components of complex products and seek out relevant information independently to quickly learn and understand these products in depth
* Ability to lead a team through effective delegation, training, and motivation
* Ability to track multiple test efforts simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results in fast paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
