DPP is seeking a Senior Java Developer for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Work arrangement:
- Onsite initially, then hybrid with 3 days in the office and as needed.
- W2 position; 6 months
- Candidates who are foreign nationals must have resided in the US for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years prior to assignment to the client s applicable government contract.
- As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working in an Agile/Scrum environment with standard Agile ceremonies.
- This role involves a blend of Agile collaboration, production support, and action request fulfillment. A typical day begins with participation in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, where developers discuss ongoing production issues, action items, and team priorities.
- Throughout the day, you will implement action requests, which may include enhancements or configuration changes. These tasks require analysis of both front-end and back-end code.
- On the front end, you ll work with Spring MVC and JSP to understand UI behavior and use jQuery to troubleshoot or enhance client-side interactions. On the server side, you ll utilize Spring Data JPA and Hibernate to investigate data access logic and ensure smooth database integration.
- In the context of production support, responsibilities include monitoring logs, diagnosing issues, and deploying fixes using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Splunk. Full-stack proficiency is essential for identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions quickly.
- You will also document findings and collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to maintain system stability and support continuous improvement in future releases.
- Soft skills required include:
- Communication for conveying results of research conducted and presenting work completed in Sprint Reviews.
- Problem solving determining new solutions and for modifying existing code other developers have written.
- The portal team consists of one Scrum development team of 5 people, who are working on Spring upgrades in addition to some user-facing enhancements.
- The culture is collaborative, positive, and team oriented.
- Teamwork is a must for this Agile Scrum environment.

- 8 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
- OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
- OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 12 years without a degree)
