Technical Architect Tricentis (S/4HANA Migration & Enterprise Testing)


Role Overview
The Tricentis Technical Architect will lead the design and governance of automated testing for an SAP S/4HANA landscape migrated from ECC. This role requires deep expertise in Tricentis tools-especially Change Impact Analysis (CIA) and Enterprise Continuous Testing (ECT)-and strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA processes, integrations, and validation needs. The architect will define frameworks and standards for scalable automation that accelerates testing, improves quality, and integrates with SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) for planning, execution, and reporting. Collaboration with SAP functional teams, developers, QA, and leadership is essential to align testing strategy with business priorities and migration outcomes.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Testing Architecture & Strategy
    • Design end-to-end automation aligned with SAP Activate and migration risks.
    • Define standards, frameworks, and reusable components for Tricentis TOSCA automation.
    • Develop scripting strategies for functional, regression, integration, and interface testing.
    • Optimize automation coverage for stable and redesigned S/4HANA processes.
  • Tricentis Tool Ownership
    • Act as SME for CIA to analyze delta changes, identify high-risk processes, and prioritize workloads.
    • Act as SME for ECT to define pipelines, enable scalable execution, and integrate QA with CI/CD.
    • Oversee TOSCA test case design, API frameworks, and modular automation patterns.
  • SAP Cloud ALM Integration
    • Configure CALM for test management, traceability, defect workflows, and monitoring.
    • Link automated tests to CALM processes and requirements; establish dashboards and KPIs.
  • Collaboration & Governance
    • Partner with SAP SMEs to analyze process flows and migration impacts.
    • Work with Basis, Security, and Development on test data, readiness, and interface validation.
    • Provide architectural oversight and resolve complex defects or system issues.
  • Communication & Leadership
    • Simplify technical concepts for executive and technical audiences.
    • Mentor automation teams and prepare documentation, roadmaps, and diagrams.
    • Drive continuous improvement and testing maturity.

Required Skills-

  • Tricentis Expertise
    • Advanced proficiency in TOSCA design, execution, and automation architecture.
    • Hands-on experience with CIA, ECT, API testing, UI automation, and modeling.
    • Knowledge of Vision AI, qTest (optional), and integration best practices.
  • SAP & S/4HANA
    • Deep understanding of ECC, S/4HANA migration, simplification items, and delta configuration.
    • Familiarity with Fiori, SAP GUI automation, and hybrid testing approaches.
  • SAP Cloud ALM
    • Expertise in CALM for test management, process mapping, execution, and analytics.
  • Automation Architecture
    • Experience designing scalable frameworks, naming standards, and reusable libraries.
    • Understanding CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication for leadership and technical teams.

Preferred Skills-

  • Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager transition paths.
  • Exposure to agile and iterative S/4HANA delivery models.
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise or public-sector programs.
