Job Details

Seeking an experienced, self-directed, SR Data Architect to support the Army Data and Analytics Platform contract on-site at Joint Base Ft. Langley Eustis, VA. As a member of our team, you will help to assist the Army in a full range of program/product management and administration, financial, technical, and business transformation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Designs and builds databases for data storage or processing.
Develops strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery.
Builds data models and defines the structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements.
May evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration.
Develop and implement data and metadata policies and procedures to support structural design and development.
Build, maintain, and leverage data models in alignment with data standards.
Oversee the design, evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of major databases and metadata structures.
Review and assess database performance, risk, and financial feasibility studies.
Provide technical direction for the maintenance of existing databases supporting evolving applications and business processes.
Develop methods to systematically eliminate data incompatibilities among systems.
Diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues related to data infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience

BS Degree in Information Technology, Data Science or related Field; Master's Degree preferred.
BA/BS degree required, MS Preferred.
Ten (10+) years of relevant experience required.
Demonstrated experience in data architecture.
In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
Proficiency in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration.
Experience in data visualization, migration, and modeling.
Expertise in relational database management systems (DBMS).
Experience with DBMS software, including SQL Server.
Knowledge of database and cloud computing design, architectures, and data lakes.
Experience in configuring and administering enterprise-level data stores, ETL and ELT methods, and batch and streaming data transport.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Proficiency in programming languages Java and Python.
Experience with Linux, Unix, Solaris, and Windows.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and JIRA.
