Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Systems Engineer - Launch (Level 3 or 4) to join our Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) Launch Engineering team to support the Space Launch System (SLS) program in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and documentation of Operations and Maintenance Requirements and Specifications (OMRS) and Launch Countdown Criteria (LCC) for the Exploration Upper Stage (EUS-1).
  • Create and maintain a high-level understanding of the EUS system architecture and requirements across all subsystems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical inquiries related to requirements (OMRS & LCCs), engaging subsystem subject matter experts as necessary.
  • Identify and address any issues or roadblocks in the requirements development and approval process.
  • Ensure adherence to the baseline schedule for all requirements, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays.
  • Facilitate the approval process for all requirements, ensuring timely progression through necessary reviews and approvals.
  • Track the status of requirements and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with key subsystem requirement authors and subject matter experts.
  • Organize and lead weekly working groups with customers to address open issues and facilitate discussions related to requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a timeline for requirement approvals and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the requirements creation and approval workflow.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience'
  • 3+ years of experience related to Operations and Maintenance Requirements and Specifications (OMRS) and Launch Countdown Criteria (LCC)
  • 3+ years of experience interfacing with customers
  • 2+ years of experience working with Space/Satellite systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with NASA's OMRS and LCC release process
  • Experience with Atlassian tools including JIRA & Confluence
  • Familiarity with Lean Boeing Production System standards
  • Proactive problem-solver with a desire to learn and grow
  • Team player who thrives in dynamic environments and embraces challenges
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and safety
  • Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Mid-Level (Level 3) Summary pay range: $97,750 - $132,250

Senior (Level 4) Summary pay range: $119,850 - $162,150
