AWS Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Engineer with 7-8 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you will be responsible for architecting cloud solutions, managing deployments, automating infrastructure tasks, and providing technical leadership to junior team members. A strong background in Python is essential for scripting and automation tasks.
Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture & Design: Design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, and more.
• Infrastructure Automation: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources.
• Python Development: Write clean, efficient Python scripts for automating AWS operations, data pipelines, and system integrations.
• Performance Tuning & Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of AWS environments.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce best security practices, such as access control (IAM), encryption (KMS, S3), and network security (VPC, NACLs, security groups).
• DevOps Practices: Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Cloud Cost Management: Ensure cost-effective use of AWS resources through proper planning, budgeting, and utilization monitoring.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
• Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 7-8 years of experience in AWS cloud services, with at least 3 years of experience in a senior/lead role.
• Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree is required.
• AWS Expertise: Extensive experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS, IAM, etc.) and AWS management tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.).
• Python Development: Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and building cloud-native applications.
• Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Cloud Security: Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and secure network architecture.
• Automation & CI/CD: Experience implementing automation, deployment pipelines, and continuous integration in AWS environments.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Amazon ECS/EKS.
• Networking: Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts such as VPC, subnetting, routing, and VPNs.
• Cost Optimization: Familiarity with AWS cost management tools and best practices for optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to debug complex issues across multiple layers of the cloud stack.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, or similar certifications.
• Databases: Familiarity with AWS RDS, DynamoDB, or NoSQL databases.
• Serverless: Experience with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
