Title: F5 Network Security Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Full Time Role

100 miles radius of The Woodlands. Must be willing to go to the office 3 days/week.

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive F5 Network Security Engineer. The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in F5 technologies (LTM, ASM, DNS, iRules) and should be capable of designing, implementing, and managing secure application delivery environments.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, planning and implementation of the F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Application Security Manager (ASM) utilizing best practices of F5 technology along with other aspects of client security

Architect, engineer and configure the F5 LTM and ASM

Develop iRules and apply rules within the F5 appliances

Monitor, maintain, and optimize F5 devices using tools like F5 Analytics, SNMP, and Syslog.

Perform load balancing, SSL offloading, reverse proxy, and application security configurations.

Subject matter expert regarding the capabilities of F5 and related technologies

Support or troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls (NGFW, Panorama).

Document operational policies and procedures based on established client requirements and security controls, industry-standard practices, and vendor recommendations

Qualifications:

A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the IT Network Security Engineer Field

At least 3 years F5 LTM and ASM

Strong experience with troubleshooting services on F5 appliances

Good to have experience configuring and maintaining Palo Alto VPN

Knowledge of router protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) is a plus.

Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal); presentation skills; interpersonal skills; analytical; and consulting type skills.

Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation

Good to Have: F5 Certified BIG-IP LTM / ASM / DNS.
