Job Details

Title: Principal Systems Hardware Design Engineer

Location: Valencia, CA, Onsite (Possible hybrid -3 days on T,W,Th)

Length: 12 months + (multi-year or potential conversion to perm down the road)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Start date: Middle of June (some flex)

background check/drug screen required.

Interview Process: 2 rounds, National is virtual, Final round is onsite.

Skills:

  • Proficient in ASIC development with the ability to integrate this expertise within systems teams. Multi-layered boards, PCB's, SOC's, etc.
  • Designed Hardware systems in multiple industries (Can be semiconductor, automotive, med device, aerospace defense, etc., someone who has designed or architected the hands-on hardware and worked with lab tools like oscilloscope or analyzer meters.
  • General understanding of Firmware.
  • Experience with Mintab or JMP is preferred. but not required. Familiarity with "R" is acceptable, with openness to Mintab or JMP.
  • Previous involvement in board-level modifications to facilitate new functionalities, demonstrating prior experience and a systems perspective.
  • Strong experience with advanced statistics, including T-Test, ANOVA, Design of Experiments (DOEs), Response Surface analysis, multi-variate analysis, population analysis techniques, probability, 6 Sigma, Monte Carlo analysis, etc..
  • Black Belt Certification in Lean Sigma, Six Sigma, DRM, Design for X (DFM, DFR, DfSS, etc.).
  • Adaptable software skills, with openness to various programs according to the candidate's preference.
  • Advanced statistics Highly Desired
  • Monte Carlo analysis, Simulation experience, Characterization all pluses for general knowledge in these areas
  • Experience in integration and overseeing collaboration among hardware, algorithms, mechanical, electrical and software teams.
  • Experience in leading technical and architecture trade-offs to optimize design, performance, usability, manufacturability, cost-efficiency and reliability.
  • Experience in leading system characterizations and trade-offs analysis for power budgets, data storage/transmission, battery selection, BLE antenna designs, lead/electrode designs for various use cases. Preferred
  • Experience in algorithm and firmware development and product implementation. Preferred
  • Experience with medical device microprocessor, ASIC or SOC (system on chip) system architectures. Preferred
  • Experience driving electrical, mechanical and system miniaturization. Preferred
  • Experience designing, developing and launching app-cloud-hardware systems. Preferred
  • Experience leading R&D team failure analysis investigations, root cause identification and driving process/product improvements.
  • Expertise in test method development, Gage R&R and establishing performance metrics. Preferred
  • Experience in Systems test architecture, driving test efficiency across multiple programs, and Verification as well as the associated best practices. Preferred
  • Proficiency in project management and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) Preferred.
