Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you'll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world's most important challenges-striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.
THE ROLE:
Join a highly skilled Data Center Operations team responsible for ensuring critical server infrastructure stays healthy, organized, and performing at its best for a major enterprise customer. In this role, you will be the hands-on expert in the data center-working directly with physical hardware such as servers, racks, switches, and cabling. You'll prepare and stage new systems, support hardware refreshes, and troubleshoot components to keep services running seamlessly.
You'll collaborate with both internal engineering teams and customer-facing stakeholders, gaining visibility into how data center infrastructure powers real-world business outcomes. This is an opportunity to build strong technical depth in data center technologies, learn deployment standards at scale, and contribute ideas that improve operational efficiency and documentation across the environment. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with your hands, and being part of a team that owns the operational success of the hardware footprint-this role is for you.
THE PERSON:
You are self-motivated, hands-on, and take pride in delivering exceptional service reliability. You thrive in structured processes, pay strong attention to detail, and consistently follow safety protocols. You stay calm when challenges arise, communicate clearly, and proactively share information to help the team succeed. You take accountability for your work, stay curious, and continuously look for ways to improve workflow, knowledge sharing, and customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support deployment and maintenance of data center hardware including servers, storage, and network devices
Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot hardware failures to minimize service disruption
Execute staging, labeling, cabling, grounding, and quality checks according to safety and deployment standards
Assist with hardware refreshes, upgrades, and decommissioning activities
Create and refine documentation such as SOPs, KB articles, and lessons learned
Manage work via ticketing systems and deliver against established SLAs/KPIs
Escalate incidents appropriately and provide timely updates to stakeholders
Contribute to a positive team culture by collaborating, sharing knowledge, and supporting peers
Learn the customer's environment and understand the impact of your work on operational success
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Hands-on experience with data center hardware, IT equipment, and cabling
Ability to diagnose and replace faulty components
Familiarity with ticketing systems and workflow management
Knowledge of safety procedures in a data center environment
Strong communication skills when interacting with internal and external partners
Experience documenting technical processes or best practices
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Technical certifications or coursework in IT, networking, or related fields preferred
LOCATION:
Onsite at customer data center in Iowa
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
