Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented B2B Lead Architect to spearhead a critical communications migration project. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end architectural design, strategy, and implementation oversight of migrating our existing B2B communications infrastructure from Axway to IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI). The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise in both Axway and IBM Sterling Integrator, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex B2B integration projects.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Define the overall technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Axway to IBM Sterling Integrator migration project, specifically focusing on AS2, FTP, and SFTP communications.
Architectural Design: Design the target architecture on IBM Sterling Integrator, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and high availability. This includes defining communication protocols, security configurations, data flow patterns, and integration points with internal systems.
Technical Planning: Develop a detailed technical migration plan, including phased migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and resource requirements.
Platform Expertise: Leverage deep technical knowledge of both Axway and IBM Sterling Integrator to identify migration challenges, propose solutions, and ensure a smooth transition.
Implementation Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the development and implementation teams throughout the migration process. Ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
Trading Partner Integration: Define the strategy and approach for migrating trading partners, considering different communication protocols and technical capabilities. Collaborate with partner onboarding teams and provide technical support as needed.
Automation Strategy: Identify opportunities for automation in the migration process, including configuration migration, testing, and deployment.
Performance Optimization: Design the target SBI environment for optimal performance and scalability, considering current and future B2B transaction volumes.
Security Architecture: Ensure the security of B2B communications on the SBI platform, including certificate management, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the migration project.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and migration procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT infrastructure, security, application development, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
Vendor Management: Liaise with IBM and other relevant vendors as needed.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in B2B integration, with a strong focus on EDI and secure file transfer protocols.
Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI) architecture, configuration, development (BPML, Java), and administration.
Proven experience in architecting and implementing complex B2B integration solutions.
Deep understanding of communication protocols such as AS2, FTP, SFTP, HTTP/S.
Strong knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT).
Experience with certificate management (SSL/TLS).
Familiarity with cloud-based integration platforms and concepts is a plus.
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong leadership, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex technical migration projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
IBM Certified Solution Architect - Sterling B2B Integrator.
Knowledge of API integration concepts and technologies.
