Role: Wireless Network Deployment Project Manager

Location: Chandler, AZ -Hybrid

Long term contract

Responsibilities:
This individual will manage the microwave program within the Southwest Wireless Network.
Project Management in wireless network deployment
Driving complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
Coordinating and scheduling resources across multiple organizations to align project requirements with business goals and objectives.
Identifying, monitoring, reporting, and escalating project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.

Role and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will work on projects related to building and maintaining wireless network infrastructure, including cell towers, small cells, and in-building solutions. The position will focus on one of two key programs:

Microwave Builds: This involves project managing point-to-point wireless connections. The candidate will coordinate with various teams, including transport, real estate, and regulatory, in a fast-paced environment.

Small Cell Programs: This involves supporting the modification of existing small cells (e.g., changing radios or antennas) and requires coordination across multiple disciplines, such as RF, real estate, construction, transport, and operations.

Required Candidate Qualifications

Experience:

o Minimum of five years of project management experience in a technical role is required.

o Experience in the wireless realm (dealing with cell sites/towers) is a significant plus.

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in data processing and trend identification is crucial, as the projects involve a large amount of data (up to 300-400 sites).

o Familiarity with the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel, is a must. Knowledge of tools like Tableau is a plus.

Soft Skills:

o Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential. The candidate must be personable, collaborative, and able to coordinate and escalate issues appropriately.

o The ability to work effectively with various teams, including engineering, operations, and RF, is required.

Preferred (but not required):

o PMP certification and a four-year degree.

o An understanding of wireless network engineering.

Logistics and Interview Process

Location: This is a hybrid position based in Chandler, Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix).

Work Schedule: The current hybrid schedule requires candidates to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with Mondays and Fridays being flexible. The manager notes this could change to a full Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. office schedule in the future.
