Job Overview:

We are seeking a Data Analyst to support a large-scale, cloud-hosted data platform used for healthcare program monitoring and reporting. This role focuses on preparing, validating, and analyzing data related to provider networks, service utilization, quality performance, and compliance activities. You will collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and policy teams to help turn raw data into accurate insights that inform operational and strategic decision-making across multiple state-run healthcare programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform data validation and integrity checks on datasets ingested into cloud-hosted environments
  • Organize and analyze large volumes of healthcare and program performance data (e.g., provider, member, quality, financial)
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support the development of dashboards and reporting tools
  • Translate reporting requirements into technical specifications and work with developers to implement
  • Assist with building and maintaining metadata documentation and data dictionaries
  • Analyze trends, identify anomalies, and flag data issues for resolution
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests, recurring data submissions, and compliance-related reports

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role working with structured datasets
  • Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar) for querying and manipulating data
  • Experience working with large datasets in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (especially for PHI/PII)
  • Strong attention to detail, data quality, and documentation practices

Preferred:

  • Background in healthcare or government programs (e.g., Medicaid, CHIP, MCOs, or quality reporting)
  • Exposure to healthcare-specific datasets such as HEDIS, CAHPS, or claims data
  • Experience with ETL pipelines or working alongside data engineers
