Full Time Opportunity- 3 days in office
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead our technology strategy and execution. This role is ideal for a senior engineering leader with a proven track record of building secure, scalable systems in high-growth or startup environments.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will define our long-term engineering vision, guide architectural decisions, and mentor a growing team. You will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver enterprise-grade, data-driven solutions for the evolving open finance landscape.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Set and drive the long-term technical vision and engineering roadmap
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team
- Foster a collaborative, innovative engineering culture aligned with company values
- Technical Oversight
- Own end-to-end architecture and execution for all technical initiatives
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including code quality, security, performance, and scalability
- Guide technology stack decisions and evaluate emerging technologies for business impact
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure alignment and delivery
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee project timelines, delivery milestones, and engineering resource allocation
- Implement and uphold rigorous QA, testing, and deployment stan Manage engineering budgets, tools, and infrastructure investments
- Talent & Team Building
- Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent
- Build an inclusive and results-oriented engineering culture
- Mentor engineers at all levels and lead by example
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles
- Proven success scaling engineering teams and systems in startup or high-growth environments
- Expertise in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data systems
- Familiarity with modern SDLC practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code review, Agile methodologies
- Experience with compliance, data privacy, or fintech regulations is a strong plus
- Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- This role is hybrid/in-office and requires regular presence at our NYC headquarters
- Collaborate in-person with teams at our New York City office to drive initiatives
