Description:
Our client is a dynamic and innovative organization seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and engineering, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within systems engineering teams. This role is essential for supporting the development and implementation of complex software solutions.
Location: Aiken, SC
Pay: $70 - 75 an hour
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our W2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain moderately complex software applications, ensuring high-quality design, coding, testing, and documentation.
- Apply an understanding of computer languages, software development methodologies, and database infrastructure to create effective software solutions.
- Utilize software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, change management, scanning, and debuggers to enhance the software development process.
- Collaborate with systems engineering teams to support software engineering and program development initiatives.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to complete projects on time, while also accommodating unplanned assignments and adapting to changing priorities.
- Continuously engage in technical development to stay current with advancements in software engineering.
Experience Requirements:
- Alternatively, an associate degree in an IT-related discipline with 7 years of proven performance in related assignments; or a non-related associate degree with 9 years of proven performance in related assignments.
- In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma with at least 11 years of equivalent knowledge and experience is acceptable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, VB, C++, and/or Python.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze information, design software, and debug complex issues.
- Knowledge of both the academic and practical aspects of software engineering, with a commitment to ongoing technical development.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Prior experience with SRS and working knowledge of SRNS processes and procedures.
- Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years.
- Experience developing Rational DOORS Requirements Management Extensions.
- Prior DOE experience and familiarity with DOE processes and procedures.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience as outlined in the required qualifications.
- Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years.
- Active Top Secret Clearance within the past two years.
