What you'll do:

Contribute to the design and development of platform features with microservices and event-driven (Kafka, SSE, WebSocket) architecture

Uphold the engineering and operational excellence standards and embrace automation following DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) principle

Design, build and enhance high performance reusable framework for data pipeline
Develop and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide to drive value from data at Walmart Scale
Support People Data applications ensuring data quality and governance standards.

Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the technical community.

Be an active member of a dynamic team.

Support production operations by participating in on-call rotation

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.

What you'll bring:

Bachelors/masters degree in computer science or a related field
10+years of experience in designing and developing highly scalable applications
Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns, distributed computing)

Object-oriented programming experience in Java, Spring boot, Microservices, React.

Have designed, built, and maintained APIs, services, and systems on cloud at large scale.

Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, microservices architecture, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience using CI/CD, tools for logging and metric
Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on major cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, Azure)

Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
Familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mocha, TestNG, Selenium)
Experience working in Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, GCS, Hive, Apache Spark and Airflow.
Strong data modeling skills are necessary for designing a schema that can accommodate the evolution of data sources and facilitate seamless data joins across various datasets.
Ability to work directly with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate that to pipeline development / data solution work.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the data integration and schema evolution process.
Ability to move at a rapid pace with quality and start delivering with minimal ramp up time will be crucial to succeed in this initiative.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
