Your role

Work as part of a Scrum team to implement improvements to our applications.
Work across geographies with a diverse software development team.
Adapt and learn to work with new technologies.
Provide front- and back-end development and deployment support.
Develop containerized cloud services.
Work on implementing a scalable, secure API platform, as required.
Integrate multiple application services using event streaming and messaging platforms.
Identify and fix bottlenecks that may arise from inefficient code.
Identify and fix software bugs.
Implement meaningful unit/integration and functional tests to verify the functionality of software.
Write detailed documentation and ensure relevance.
Manage code changes using version control.

Your team
We are a highly specialized engineering team within UBS Evidence Lab, which offers differentiated and in-depth analytics and alternative data products to facilitate investment debates and answer pivotal questions. We leverage well-established engineering processes and techniques to capture, store and distribute data to customer-facing applications and products. We are seeking a developer to join the Data Management team responsible for building and maintaining platforms that are core to our business.
Your expertise
5 years' experience in programming for front- and back-end applications and databases.
Familiarity with languages and frameworks such as Python, Typescript, Django and Next.js.
Familiarity with Postgres, MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Redis and Neo4J or other relational and non-relational database technologies.
Basic knowledge of building applications in the cloud, with a preference on Azure cloud.
Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized development and deployment.
Experience working on large scale Enterprise applications is preferred.
Experience working with multi-mode data delivery such as API's, events and file shares.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to deliver value-added solutions.
