Inspection Technology Specialist- Shop Support
The Inspection Technology Specialist-Shop Support will provide critical support on the shop
floor for X-ray/VCT (Volumetric Computed Tomography) and other inspection workflows,
ensuring efficient and uninterrupted operations. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving
issues related to data transfer, data management, infrastructure, and Assisted Defect
Recognition (ADR) implementation for HPT blades in TAVS Greenville production site. This role
will be responsible for continuous operation and optimum productivity of the VCT workflow in
production environment, ensuring timely delivery of high-volume HPT blades. This role will be
based in either Springdale, OH (Bladeworx) or Greenville, SC plant to provide support to
inspection processes including VCT and ADR.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide on-site support for the digital inspection tools used in X-ray/VCT workflow,
including data transfer and data management and ADR of blades.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to VCT workflow, data transfer and ADR
software
Monitor and maintain ADR infrastructure supporting VCT workflow
Work with Site IT leader and other DT teams to ensure resolution of issues affecting the
VCT workflow, including data transfer issues, connectivity and network issues
Support and sustain the implementation of ADR software of blade inspections for
multiple blade types
Provide training and support to Level II inspectors and CA on data transfer and ADR
system
Work with Bladeworx and Research teams to identify root cause of any failures in data
transfer software or ADR system and requalify the system for production use
Maintain comprehensive documentation of VCT workflow processes, issues, and
resolutions
Generate reports on ADR performance and share with relevant stakeholders
Maintain the software used for data transfer and ADR and shall be responsible for
acceptance of the software after any changes
Provide support to other inspection processes as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university
Knowledge of X-ray/VCT inspection methods and an awareness of other inspection
methods used in manufacturing environment
Familiarity with DICONDE standards, and data management protocols
Experience in developing and implementing digital inspection tools for data management, data transfer and developing efficient workflows
Desired Characteristics
Experience with DICONDE data transfer protocols, databases and IT networking
Experience with 3D visualization software such as Avizo
