Job Title: Salesforce Developer IV (Lead)

Type: Contract-to-Hire (3+ Months)
Location: Columbus, OH

About the Role

The Salesforce Center of Excellence (COE) team is seeking a Salesforce Technical Lead to drive development efforts across multiple Salesforce platforms. This role requires hands-on development expertise, leadership in Agile environments, and a strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, DevOps, and integration strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
  • Lead a team of developers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and code reviews.
  • Independently build and unit test Salesforce components using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), flows, triggers, and complex formulas.
  • Guide the team in researching and documenting new Salesforce capabilities and resolving platform-related issues.

Architecture & Innovation
  • Collaborate with architects to lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new designs, integrations, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and document third-party solutions and Salesforce features to align with business goals.

Agile & DevOps Practices
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and test automation.

Integration & System Design
  • Apply knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, and API interactions.
  • Design and document scalable development patterns and best practices for the COE.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in enterprise application development, including full-stack Salesforce development.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce data models across various clouds/products.
  • Expertise in Git-based version control and branching/merging strategies.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Platform Developer I & II, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant).
  • Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud.
  • Familiarity with managed package evaluation, deployment, and upgrades.
  • Experience with Salesforce CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Copado, Gearset).
  • Exposure to other Salesforce products such as MuleSoft and Marketing Cloud.
