Job Details

Title: Sr. Project Analyst (Privacy)/ Privacy Analyst

Work Location: Remote

Required Skills & Experience

  • Solid understanding of privacy laws and frameworks including the Privacy Act, Circular A-130, and NIST 800-53 Rev 5, with ability and willingness to quickly learn and apply them in IT environments following Privacy-By-Design principles
  • Ability to clarify and articulate technical, legal, and data protection concepts, including complex issues like international data transfers and security measures, to both expert and non-expert audiences
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools SharePoint, Power Automate, and Power BI and eagerness to develop skills to automate privacy workflows, manage data governance, and generate compliance reporting
  • Experience in collaborating with teams of security and privacy professionals
  • Thorough knowledge of privacy principles, concepts, policy, and regulations.
  • Work proactively and independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively and create exemplary resources for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify key concepts, factors and risks based on conversations and document these in clear and concise narrative or graphic reports.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Certification in privacy technology (e.g., CIPT) preferred, with a strong aptitude for learning privacy risk assessment, data classification, and impact analysis using automation and reporting tools, plus responsible use of common AI tools to enhance productivity
  • Experience working as a contractor or an employee for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • Experience working in a consulting environment and understanding of client/customer relations
