Position : Senior Systems Engineer
Duration: 06- Months Approx.
Location: Richmond, VA
Job Overview:
- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology Division is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join its technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced support, system administration, deployment, maintenance, and integration services for Microsoft Windows Server environments and related platforms. This includes support for cloud migrations, .NET applications, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and other VDOT systems and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage Windows Server environments (2008 through 2022), including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policies, and system logs.
- Support high-availability environments: clustering, load balancing, failover, diagnostics, performance tuning.
- Deploy and maintain .NET applications and related services on IIS.
- Lead or participate in server and application migrations from on-premises to Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Provide architecture support for .NET applications and other enterprise solutions.
- Support Microsoft Dynamics CRM: workflows, plugins, integrations, and web services.
- Monitor server and application performance and availability; troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Document current system architectures, processes, and procedures; recommend and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and business stakeholders.
- Ensure systems and deployments meet VDOT s security, compliance, SDLC, and operational standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours deployments or maintenance activities.

Compensation
Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
