Description: Position: Scrum Master
Overview

We are seeking an experienced servant leader and coach for a cross-functional agile team operating in the Data Integrations and Engineering space. The Scrum Master will guide and facilitate a Scrum and/or Kanban team involved in a large, fast-paced program implementing complex technology for business-oriented solutions. This role requires effective application of the agile-based Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) and associated ceremonies, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon agile practices. The Scrum Master will focus on removing impediments and fostering a high-performing team with continuous improvement, resulting in quality and timely delivery.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Scrum master experience in a complex, large-scale enterprise.
  • Agile Environment: Experience in other agile roles such as quality assurance, development, product owner, or agile coach.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proven knowledge and experience with agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their highest potential. Excellent team player and team builder.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse personality types and all levels of the organization.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to understand technical issues at a high level and communicate agile methodologies within the organization.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Team Management: Strong ability to manage multiple agile teams and ensure a proper balance between PMO, business, technology teams, and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Self-motivated, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Guidance: Guide, coach, and motivate the team to increase productivity.
  • Scrum Ceremonies: Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Impediment Removal: Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments.
  • Environment Building: Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment, emphasizing productive conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  • Facilitation: Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on progress and success.
  • Coordination: Coordinate activities with other teams across the program.
  • Product Owner Support: Partner with and support the Product Owner.
  • Scrum of Scrums: Participate in the Scrum of Scrums and partner with other Scrum Masters.
  • Team Maturity: Coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable and comfortable pace for the team and organization.
  • Planning and Coordination: Organize and facilitate planning and coordination, including release planning, iteration planning, daily stand-ups, iteration review/demos, and retrospectives.
  • Accountability: Ensure teams are held accountable to agile SDLC tenants and their internal working agreements, including the use of appropriate tools, standards, and best practices.
  • Agile Principles: Promote and demonstrate core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
  • Progress Tracking: Ensure the team is tracking and communicating progress and metrics to the appropriate resources.
  • Collaboration and Creativity: Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration and creativity.
  • Commitment Empowerment: Support and empower the team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
  • Self-Organization: Empower the team to self-organize around achieving their commitments.
  • Impediment Identification: Identify and remove any impediments or distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver against their commitments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Challenge and enable the team to continuously improve through intentional and data-driven inspect and adapt cycles (retrospectives).
