Position: Senior Systems Administrator
Employment Type: Full-Time


We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize the core IT infrastructure-including on-prem and virtual server environments, storage systems, and enterprise tools. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in VMware vSphere, Active Directory, Exchange, endpoint protection, and disaster recovery.


Core Responsibilities:



  • Design, deploy, and maintain VMware vSphere environments (vCenter, ESXi, Update Manager).

  • Administer Active Directory, Exchange Server, and Group Policy across a multi-site environment.

  • Implement and manage SolarWinds Orion for performance monitoring and alerting.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot SAN, UPS, and server hardware.

  • Oversee patch management, server OS upgrades, and endpoint security (e.g., Symantec).

  • Perform regular disaster recovery testing and maintain recovery documentation.

  • Deploy and maintain role-based access controls for Help Desk and departmental users.

  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software installs, upgrades, and licensing.

  • Lead server/storage capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives.

  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation and ensure audit-readiness.


Required Experience & Skills:



  • 5-7+ years of experience in enterprise systems administration.

  • Expertise with VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi), Windows Server, and AD environments.

  • Proven ability to manage enterprise storage solutions and virtualization infrastructure.

  • Experience with Exchange Server, endpoint protection platforms, and system backups.

  • Strong scripting or automation knowledge (e.g., PowerShell) preferred.

  • Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance in a regulated environment.


Preferred Certifications:



  • VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or similar.

  • ITIL, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP (a plus).
