Summary: Associate Program Manager

The Associate Program Manager is part of a team responsible for managing PennDnA's portfolio of projects and programs. This role coordinates activities across a variety of stakeholders to ensure requests are understood and dispositioned. The Associate Program Manager helps clarify the requests and routes them to appropriate teams for work. They clarify business needs and identify urgency. The Associate Program Manager coordinates upgrade and maintenance issues for system-wide applications such as the Epic EMR. The role requires effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Scrum or other Agile software development methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Coordination: Analyze, assess, and disposition incoming requests and projects to appropriate work queues. Collaborate with the PennDnA teams to ensure delivery of expedited bugs and requests, such as break/fix and regulatory requests.
  • Upgrade Coordination: Serve as the liaison between upgrade teams and the PennDnA teams. Identify work items and ensure timely delivery. Participate in multi-team upgrade meetings. Coordinate the activity of PennDnA teams
  • Ticket System Management: Establish and maintain workflows around the ticketing environment. Educate PennDnA teams on the use of the ticketing system. Monitor usage and report metrics on tickets.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as first-line contact with Stakeholders on project and ticket updates. Escalate issues to the PennDnA teams. Review the status of received tickets. Inform stakeholders of progress.
  • Collaboration: Work both independently and as part of a team. Maintain professional and collegial relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Help optimize the Program Management team's processes and workflows.

The Program Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects and tasks throughout the development lifecycle within PennDnA's portfolio. This role coordinates activities to achieve strategic objectives, stakeholder needs, and effective delivery. The Program Manager develops the portfolio roadmap, sets goals, and prioritizes the backlog. They clarify business value and acceptance criteria for both internal clients and PennDnA teams. Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills are necessary. The Program Manager must possess a solid understanding of SDLC, specifically Scrum or other Agile software development methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Prioritize and refine the PennDnA portfolio backlog in alignment with organizational and stakeholder goals. Use expertise to develop and maintain a clear portfolio roadmap for ongoing and future features and enhancements. Continually order backlog items based on knowledge, feedback, market changes, and stakeholder input. Collaborate with the PennDnA teams to ensure delivery of the highest value features.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the liaison between stakeholders and the PennDnA teams, ensuring clear communication. Understand and anticipate stakeholder needs and expectations. Work with stakeholders to clearly define and refine user stories and requirements. Identify acceptance criteria. Incorporate feedback from stakeholders. Use expertise in data analysis to make strategic recommendations. Communicate updates back to stakeholders.
  • Development Collaboration: Work closely with PennDnA teams to ensure alignment of portfolio goals and requirements. The Senior Program Manager develops the portfolio roadmap, sets goals, and prioritizes the backlog. They clarify business value and acceptance criteria for both stakeholders and development teams. The Senior Program Manager must manage customer requirements and have a high commitment to detail. In this role, there will be a high level of accountability and visibility within the organization. Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills are necessary. This role must consult with stakeholders, offering expertise in data analysis and providing data-driven strategic recommendations.
