Overview:

Our client, a leading biotechnology company, is urgently seeking a Proofpoint Migration Consultant to support a business-critical email security project. The organization is migrating from Mimecast to Proofpoint and requires a hands-on expert who can accelerate deployment, ensure secure mail flow continuity, and seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Exchange Online.

The client has a strong internal team (including a technical project manager and two dedicated administrators), but is looking for deep Proofpoint configuration and migration expertise particularly in aligning with enterprise security best practices, phased cutovers, and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical configuration, deployment, and cutover from Mimecast to Proofpoint, aligning with enterprise policies and change management best practices.
• Architect and implement Proofpoint modules, with emphasis on Mail Flow, DLP, Continuity+, and Adaptive DLP.
• Integrate Proofpoint with Exchange Online, ensuring no disruption in mail flow or end-user experience.
• Support phased migration strategies, ruleset testing, and change configuration rollouts.
• Provide operational guidance and knowledge transfer to internal administrators.
• Collaborate closely with the existing project manager and email admin team.
• Ensure robust security posture throughout the migration process.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience migrating from Mimecast to Proofpoint in environments with 2,000+ users.
• Hands-on expertise in the following Proofpoint modules:

o Secure Email Gateway (SEG)

o Targeted Attack Protection (TAP)

o Account Takeover Protection (ATP)

o Email Fraud Defense (EFD 360 Unlimited)

o Secure Email Relay

o Supplier Threat Protection

o Continuity+

o Email DLP & Encryption

o Adaptive Email DLP

• Deep knowledge of Exchange Online administration, security configuration, and mail flow management.
• Familiarity with Mimecast deployment and administration is a plus.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security best practices in email systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in highly regulated environments such as biotech or healthcare.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks that influence DLP configurations.
• Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours and provide light on-site presence if needed.
