Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Manager Software Development Engineering to join our Rx Modernization team focused on transforming into a cutting-edge, cloud-native platform hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in planning, building, executing and delivering a multi-year roadmap for modernization which drives our business and technology strategy The Manager will work on integrating cloud-native solutions, enhancing performance, and ensuring seamless operation within a highly scalable and secure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading successful software development program delivery
*Preference is for candidates to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Woonsocket, RI or Hartford, CT; remote will be considered for candidates not in close proximity to an office.
Job Description
The Manager, Software Development Engineering is responsible for managing the technical needs across the Retail Pharmacy space in the Patient Care And Wellness (PCW) segment. They have accountability for the development, operations and support of Retail Pharmacy applications. This position works closely with other product, design, operations and technical leaders of the PCW Pharmacy team to assess business goals, strategic objectives and to build a comprehensive and achievable multi-year roadmap for the the Retail Pharmacy Teams. This role will be expected to collaborate very closely with Business Stakeholders, Product Managers/Owners and Engineering teams in different development environments. They will work closely with senior leaders to ensure that investments are aligned to the Enterprise strategic goals and technology roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
Responsibilities
- Understands, manages and reports the technical program or project delivery needs across the overall portfolio of applications and processes used in the management of PCW Pharmacy applications with a focus on delivering high quality business outcomes.
- Work with teams Lead & manage a team of software engineers by helping them to prioritize, build and ship the most impactful features
- Collaborate with leaders from Product, UX and implementation teams on product delivery
- Responsible for identifying and managing risks, engaging teams to drive towards resolution
- Identifying and managing cross-workstream technical dependencies
- Manages status reporting and communication to stakeholders
- Responsible for identifying and managing risks, engaging teams to drive towards resolution
- Identifying and managing cross-workstream technical dependencies
- Oversees development of End-to-End Program Plan and timely tracking and reporting
- Supports both the business and technical understanding of the customer experience, back-end technologies/capabilities and business operations.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of progressive experience in IT with an emphasis on engineering development delivery.
3+ years of experience working with closely with other product, design and operations
3+ years of project/produce management experience
3+ years of experience in overseeing development of End-to-End Program Plan, tracking and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies
Experience in the health and wellness domain
Experience conceiving and building healthcare products
Experience conceiving and building products for Pharmacy
Experience in Healthcare or Pharmacy technology
Experience leading a team of 10+ resources
Experience working with offshore vendors
Experience working with technology vendors
Education
Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
