Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ

Duration: Contract

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our data team, working within a Snowflake-based data ecosystem. This role will be responsible for querying, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to support business initiatives. The Data Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, data modelers, and data engineering teams to deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets from Snowflake using advanced SQL.
  • Collaborate with data modelers to understand and validate dimensional and normalized data models.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver insights and visualizations.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and develop dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Translate business questions into analytical requirements and deliver results in a clear, concise manner.
  • Validate data integrity and support data quality initiatives.
  • Document data sources, transformations, and business logic applied in analytical solutions.
  • Provide feedback on data design to improve usability, consistency, and performance for analytics.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or business intelligence role.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries in Snowflake.
  • Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas, normalization, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data engineering workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance considerations.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or R is a plus.
