Description

SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated Mechanical Engineer in Middletown, RI who will work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of mechanical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication.

Job Duties:
  • Design mechanical systems for underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems.
  • Create fabrication drawings of all hardware. Create technical data package for systems and control configuration management of the drawings.
  • Tasking will include project management of products assigned, including resource management, scheduling, inventory management and quality assurance of products.
  • Work directly with vendors and manufacturers of mechanical systems and custom assemblies to ensure on time and sufficient deliverables.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
  • Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status.


Qualifications

Required
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and zero (0) years of experience.
  • Experience with engineering design, modeling, and drawing development in SolidWorks.
  • Experience creating technical data package quality drawings.

Preferred
  • Project management experience.
  • Creating technical data packages and drawings using GD&T experience.
