Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Analyze manufacturing processes, equipment, and production data to identify areas for optimization.
- Design and execute experiments to test new processes, materials, or equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to implement process changes.
- Develop and update process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Monitor process performance using statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools.
- Lead root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage process-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging technologies in process engineering.
- Ensure all processes comply with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Contribute to the development of capital expenditure requests for new equipment or process upgrades.
- Optimize material flow and waste reduction within the manufacturing facility.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance and identify further improvement opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Five years of progressive experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven background in optimizing manufacturing processes, ideally in packaging, printing, or related industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex process issues and implement effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with PLCs, automation, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of labeling, printing, or plastics extrusion processes.
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or Lean.
- Experience in a high-volume, continuous manufacturing operation.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
