Senior Business Analyst (Financial Services / Banking)
Location: Raleigh, NC OR Dallas, TX OR Phoenix, AZ
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with a strong product mindset to drive digital innovation and business transformation in our financial services domain.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer needs into scalable, high-impact product solutions. You ll combine strategic thinking with analytical depth   acting as a bridge between business, technology, and product delivery in a dynamic financial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Ownership
- Partner with product managers, business heads, and technology teams to define product vision, roadmap, and KPIs aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer journeys, operational efficiency, and revenue growth through digital solutions.
- Translate strategic business needs into actionable product features, epics, and user stories.
2. Business Analysis & Solution Design
- Elicit, document, and manage business requirements across retail banking, corporate banking, lending, payments, or investment banking domains.
- Analyze existing systems and processes to recommend data-driven, value-added improvements.
- Collaborate with technology and operations teams to design scalable, compliant, and customer-centric solutions.
3. Regulatory & Risk Awareness
- Ensure product and process compliance with relevant financial regulations (e.g., KYC/AML, PSD2, MiFID II, Basel III, or local equivalents).
- Assess business and operational risks associated with product initiatives, ensuring proper controls and governance.
4. Data & Insight-Driven Decision Making
- Use data analytics to validate assumptions, monitor KPIs, and track product performance.
- Prepare business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI assessments for new features or product lines.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product owners, UX/UI, data, technology, and compliance teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of high-value features.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives) and ensure stories are clear, testable, and prioritized.
- Act as a liaison between front-office stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Monitor post-launch outcomes and gather customer and stakeholder feedback to enhance product features.
- Contribute to best practices in business analysis, requirements management, and agile delivery within the financial domain.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor s or Master s in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, banking, or investment banking.
- Proven experience working on digital banking, core banking transformation, trading systems, or payment modernization projects.
- Strong understanding of financial products, processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Deep familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban) and product management frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with business analysis tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
