Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time, consultative Workday HRIS Analyst to support ongoing system optimization and stabilization following our recent Workday Phase 1 implementation (Core HR, Payroll, and Benefits went live July 1). This role is ideal for a seasoned Workday professional who can partner with our HR and IT teams to troubleshoot system issues, enhance functionality, and provide strategic guidance, rather than simply executing tasks.
The successful candidate will help resolve open issues, optimize processes, provide training, and advise on our Workday roadmap as we prepare for Phase 2 (Recruiting, Talent Management, Advanced Compensation, and Learning). This role requires participation in scheduled business-hour meetings, but other work may be completed on a flexible, ad-hoc basis.
Responsibilities: Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting
- Resolve configuration issues (e.g., exempt part-time employee rules, holiday hours).
- Troubleshoot time tracking and overnight punch restrictions.
- Manage integration errors across connected systems.
- Address escalated payroll and smart loader tool issues.
System Optimization & Enhancements
- Optimize and streamline Workday business process flows.
- Implement best practices for Workday security model design and maintenance.
- Improve reporting and analytics to replace manual validation processes.
- Support Workday releases, testing, and new feature adoption.
Custom Reporting & Analytics
- Design and develop Workday reports and dashboards.
- Automate reconciliation processes (e.g., payroll compare files).
- Provide actionable insights to support HR strategy and decision-making.
Security Configuration & Auditing
- Configure and audit security roles and permissions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Knowledge Transfer & Upskilling
- Conduct training sessions for HR and IT team members.
- Create job aids and documentation for routine tasks.
- Coach internal staff on troubleshooting, reporting, and administration best practices.
- Support transition to a centralized Workday administration model while preserving in-house expertise.
Strategic Advisory
- Provide consultative guidance on Workday roadmap planning and future module rollouts.
- Advise on vendor management and maximizing ROI from Workday investments.
Phase 2 Implementation Support (as needed)
- Assist with testing, data mapping, and integration work for Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, and Learning modules.
- Support data validation and deployment activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Workday HRIS Analyst or Consultant, with cross-functional module knowledge.
- Hands-on expertise with Workday Core HR, Payroll, and Benefits (Phase 1 modules).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in Workday configuration and integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize processes, reporting, and security within Workday.
- Experience in training and upskilling HR/IT stakeholders.
- Consultative, collaborative style with the ability to influence and advise leadership.
- Availability for meetings during business hours with flexibility to complete other tasks independently.
