Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and quality of data-driven reports and automation processes. This position will support the implementation and maintenance of test plans, perform rigorous data validation, and oversee user acceptance testing to guarantee that all deliverables meet established standards and stakeholder expectations. The QA Analyst will partner closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to identify defects early, recommend process improvements, and uphold industry best practices for quality assurance.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business requirements and technical designs.
- Execute functional, regression, and performance testing for report automation workflows and database processes.
- Perform detailed data validation to confirm the completeness, integrity, and accuracy of automated reports.
- Compare output against source data and expected results, documenting discrepancies and driving resolution.
- Facilitate UAT sessions with end-users, capture feedback, and ensure that all user scenarios are covered.
- Track and manage UAT defects, coordinating with development teams to validate fixes.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date issue logs, including defect severity, reproduction steps, and status updates.
- Provide timely status reports to project stakeholders.
- Ensure all QA activities align with organizational quality standards and protocols.
- Document test results, process improvements, and lessons learned as part of a standard operating procedures (SOP) repository.
- Analyze QA metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process enhancements.
- Recommend and implement best practices to streamline testing and improve overall quality.
- Work closely with program managers, automation engineers, database administrators, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliverables.
- Participate in meetings, follow up on decisions and action items, and ensure QA perspective is integrated into project planning.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
- 3+ years of hands-on QA experience in data-centric or report automation projects.
- Demonstrated history of supporting data validation, UAT, and defect management within an IT project environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).
- Strong ability to validate large datasets, write SQL queries for data checks, and interpret data discrepancies.
- Meticulous approach to identifying defects, documenting issues, and verifying fixes.
- Excellent written and verbal skills for reporting defects, writing test documentation, and liaising with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with creating and maintaining SOPs, process flows, and QA documentation.
- Analytical mindset to root-cause issues and propose effective corrective actions.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, manage changing priorities, and adjust test plans accordingly.
