About the Role
This position reports directly to the Chief Security Officer (CSO). This manager will lead enterprise-wide efforts to drive proactive resiliency against cyber-attacks through monitoring, analyzing, and assessing the threat landscape pertinent to Swift and driving tangible risk mitigation through engagement across business and technology units.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Swift's Cyber Threat Management (CTM) organization, with oversight for competencies including cyber threat intelligence, Red Team Offensive testing, vulnerability assessment, threat assessment, and threat detection engineering. The manager will be required to understand the Line of Business needs with an ability to work across the organization to meet company goals while effectively managing risk. Related to this, they will communicate regularly with leaders requiring the leader to articulate risk and risk mitigation efforts in a clear and concise way
  • Lead the strategy, development, implementation, and monitoring of the long-range plans and policies for Swift CTM that are consistent with the strategic objectives of Swift, Technology Platform, and Global Security
  • Be the thought and execution leader for leveraging the threat assessment capabilities within the CTM organization to drive meaningful cyber security risk mitigation across the enterprise
  • Lead and evolve the function as the threat landscape evolves. This leader will build and maintain relationships with senior leaders across Global Security, Technology Platform, Enterprise Risk Management, and the various Lines of Business, and will effectively leverage these relationships in empowering the CTM team in driving meaningful risk mitigation at scale
  • Drive organizational competencies focused on excellence in identifying risks to Swift, working closely with the Global Security Information Security Risk Management team, to drive risk mitigation across the enterprise
  • Establish priorities for CTM as well as managing the allocation of people, technology and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align to strategic objectives
  • Lead recruitment, manage and develop teams to maximize their collective contributions, motivate lower-level managers to maximize their contributions, encourage professional growth, and the achievement of CTM, Global Security, and Technology Platform objectives
  • Attract and retain key cyber talent and leverage that talent to identify and drive remediation of security gaps

  • The candidate will need the ability to communicate complex technical, information protection and cyber defense issues and value/impact in simple terms to very senior business and technology leaders
  • Will bring a passion to change the culture within the Global Security organization alongside an ability to enter a culture where influence and collaboration is critical to driving change constructively
  • Negotiates with a genuine give-and-take approach, where both act as true peers and decisions are shared
  • Spends time identifying key stakeholders and meets or connects with each of them, neglecting no one, to shape a collective consensus
  • Identifies opportunities to build relationships that will help others achieve their objectives and reaches out to those people or new people
  • Partner closely with Govt agencies, intelligence community and Law enforcement Building People Capability
  • Dedicates time and energy to maintaining and growing followership of high-caliber, highly motivated talent
  • Gives critical feedback in behavioral terms and discusses suggestions for improvement
  • Uses existing institutional programs and brings new practices and strategies to support employees' career growth in individual ways
  • Uses a regular assessment and feedback process to focus the development effort
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years of experience in leading and managing cybersecurity teams
  • Leadership experience in overseeing cyber security threat management programs
  • A high level of comfort working with ambiguity or uncertainty and converting information into quantifiable concepts
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse and talented team
  • Finance sector security experience or other regulated industry (e.g. utilities, health care, government)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful roadmaps, and budgets, and achieving the goals and objectives that drive overall risk reduction
