Job Details
We are currently hiring 10 DC Technicians BreakFix for our client in Henrico, VA and Richmond, VA. This is a hands-on data center role requiring strong networking experience, hardware troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform physical hardware replacements: Fabric and Backbone components
- Optical transceiver swaps
- Line card and Top-of-Rack (ToR) replacements
- Circuit diagnostics and RMA coordination with vendors
- Conduct remote link troubleshooting
- Review hardware logs to isolate and identify root cause issues
- Maintain asset inventory and utilize tools/ticketing systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional data center teams
- Mentor and guide junior-level (L1) resources
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on Data Center experience
- 4+ years of overall IT support experience
- Experience with fiber optic connections, contamination control, and cleaning
- Knowledge of ESD best practices
- Comfortable working with command-line interfaces (CLI)
- Familiarity with IP-based networking, OSI layers, and basic network troubleshooting
- A+ / Network+ certification (or equivalent experience)
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Perl
- Understanding of networking protocols: BGP, Spanning Tree, VRRP, LACP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, team-oriented, and coachable mindset
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a high-uptime or mission-critical environment
- Prior experience mentoring or leading junior technicians
- Exposure to automated deployment or configuration tools
