Job : Java / InterSystems Cache Developer Data Migration & Archiving

Location :

NCDHHS is seeking a skilled Developer with experience in InterSystems Cache, Java, and Linux/UNIX environments to design and implement data migration pipelines and build an archive system. The role includes providing technical support, collaborating with multiple teams, and independently analyzing and resolving technical issues while adhering to NCDHHS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data migration pipelines and an archive system

  • Create and maintain migration scripts using Java and SQL

  • Provide technical support for application and infrastructure components

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system and data-related issues independently

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams

  • Communicate technical updates, risks, and progress to the IT Manager

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely task completion

  • Report project status, issues, and resolutions to IT leadership

  • Ensure all work adheres to NCDHHS policies and procedures

  • Participate in system analysis, documentation, and knowledge sharing

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience with InterSystems Cache Database on UNIX/Linux

  • Strong proficiency in Java and SQL

  • Experience with relational database systems

  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS and Windows environments

  • Experience building data migration and archiving solutions

  • Ability to provide technical assistance across multiple teams

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong team collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in government or healthcare IT environments

  • Familiarity with enterprise data migration strategies

  • Experience supporting production systems and infrastructure
