Job Description Summary
The Integrated Performance and Operability (IPO) organization is responsible for all engine performance and operability activities on commercial and aeroderivative programs. The individual in this distinguished staff engineer position will be responsible for driving excellence in program execution across the IPO organization.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for quality design execution and product safety for Future of Flight engine programs
  • Work closely with the systems organizations on assigned programs to define and execute IPO strategy to ensure performance targets and program milestones are met
  • Mentor and coach program leaders on assigned programs
  • Support NPI and sustaining programs as reviewer and technical mentor
  • Coach the team to continue to improve execution of FLIGHT DECK operating rhythms, including impactful daily management
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective action, as needed
  • Participate as reviewer in program reviews and non-advocate reviews
  • Drive initiatives to continuously improve the capability, efficiency, and responsiveness of the Integrated Performance & Operability organization
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to team members
  • Ensure seamless "one team" collaboration with performance engineers across all global sites, including the US and Mexico
  • Mentor and train less experienced engineers
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from accredited university

Desired Characteristics
  • At least 20 years of experience in engine performance or related discipline
  • Master's Degree in engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in cycle modeling, data analysis, model matching, test planning & execution, SFC compliance demonstration, airframer integration, production support, field support, and supporting CFR33 and CFR25 certification efforts
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience integrating with performance adjacent aero-thermal disciplines
  • Strong program management skills
  • Strong business acumen and customer mindset
