Job Title: Senior Java Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC (300 Brevard St)
Job Type: Contract (12 months, potential extension)
Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in-office required (typically Tuesday and Thursday)
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) team, specifically supporting the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) reporting platform. This role is part of a strategic initiative to modernize and scale our risk simulation and reporting infrastructure over a multi-year roadmap.

As a key contributor, you will work on enhancing and maintaining applications that support regulatory reporting, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams. You will be part of a collaborative, agile team that values ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting CCAR regulatory reporting.
  • Build and enhance web-based UIs using React or Angular frameworks.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and database interactions.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and design/code reviews.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to the modernization of the reporting platform, including phasing out legacy SSRS components.
  • Ensure code quality through unit testing and peer reviews; act as QA within the team.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting cycles, including ad hoc internal CCAR tests.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Java development with strong object-oriented programming skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React or Angular).
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful web services and full-stack development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with regulatory or financial reporting systems (e.g., CCAR, RNiM, PERT).
  • Familiarity with Autosys or similar job scheduling tools.
  • Prior experience in capital markets or risk technology environments.
