Accountant | 4 Years of Experience | Hybrid in Richardson, TX | Contract to Hire

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Accountant with 4 Years of Experience  to support a Healthcare Payor Client based out of the Richardson area. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity.

MUST BE LOCAL TO: Richardson, TX
RATE RANGE: $30 - $32
START DATE: July 7, 2025
HOURS/SCHEDULE: M-F 8am-5pm 
WORKER TYPE: W-2

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree in business with accounting coursework OR 4 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Access
  • Experience with financial systems and strong analytical skills
WE CONSIDER IT A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Intermediate-level experience with Excel
  • Experience with financial reporting systems such as Oracle, FIS (SunGard), and Workiva
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for paying the monthly, quarterly, and annual state assessments
  • Maintain state reporting database that contains details of assessments
  • Maintain the Plan-to-Plan (P2P) payments:
    • Prepare check requests to various providers
    • Prepare journal entries to record P2P activity
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly intercompany settlements
  • Prepare statutory quarterly and annual statements
  • Perform special projects as needed
