Job description:
The Configuration Management Inventory BizOps team is looking for a BizOps Engineer who is experienced in Linux and/or Unix System administration. A perfect candidate would also have experience administering the BMC Discovery application. In this role you will maintain the current BMC Discovery infrastructure which is dominantly Linux based.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provides technical leadership and support to a distributed team managing globally distributed infrastructure.
• Configure, deploy, and administer Linux-based systems across multiple environments.
• Administer the BMC Discovery Software which serves the role of Configuration Management Inventory collection from nearly every type of IT Infrastructure that exists.
• Troubleshoot Network Connectivity and/or Credential issues such as:
  • SSH to Linux/Unix Platforms
  • WMI Query and PowerShell to Windows
  • SNMP to Network Devices
• API Connections (for example Credential and Connection to Cloud Providers AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

• Extensive experience with Linux operating systems (such as CentOS, RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu).
• BMC Discovery administration experience would be ideal.
• SNMP walk and MIB-tree review experience a plus.
• Understanding of ITIL basics and the principles of change control management is ideal.
• Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as Remedy, Service Now, etc. is ideal.
• Configuration Management Database (CMDB) experience ideal.
• CompTIA Security+ or other Linux and/or network administration certifications ideal.
• Experience with deployment/configuration management and CI/CD and release tools such as Chef, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, XL Release (XLR), Octopus, Satellite, Flow, etc.
